Are you a Canucks fan? As an Oilers fan, I can't believe how good that proposal is with the Oilers. They snatch that up right away.

This is an interesting thread, so I'll be watching it.

If I were the Leafs, I would not give up a 2nd (let's be real, Holl isn't a factor in this trade since Babcock will not play him) for Tanev, who is always injured.

Also... I think you're selling yourself short with the Edmonton trade. Baertschi should be worth a little more than that :P, considering the potential for him to get his game back together.

Honestly I would put Puljujarvi in that trade in place of the third if they wanted him. The Anisimov at only 2.5 million is the kicker. If Van made the oilers take his full cap hit the original trade would be closer to equal. But that cap saving is huge.

I'd be willing to upgrade the pick to a 2nd in the OTT trade if it meant getting that deal done. But the EDM deal is really bad for the Canucks value-wise.

yes I am a Canucks fan .I thought it might be light on our return from Edmonton but we have too many forwards and both Edmonton's d-men's contracts run out in the next 2 years when we need to resign EP and QH. and I feel we win the Ottawa trade getting out from under the LE contract so we cant expect to win all of them

thanks for all the comments
would it work to expand the Edmonton trade to include gagner and sutter(with or without the pick your thoughts). Edmonton can go mcdavid RNH and sutter down the middle SB and AA as wingers with RNH gives them solid top 2 lines and a good 3rdline /faceoff centre
if it takes a 2nd to make the Ottawa trade work we could swap out the 3rd from van and put Toronto's 2nd in

I think you're gonna have to give up a fortune to get rid of the Loui contract, one of the worst contracts in the league easily.

Like, Ottawa is trying to tank to get Lafreniere, but be enjoyable enough to watch that Ottawa fans drive up to 1 hour to go to Kanata for cheapish tickets and maybe watch an underdog of fast kids win.

Giving up Anisimov is aight for them, but they'd probably want Goldobin and a 4th or something for him, considering he helps them reach the floor.

I understand that dumping Eriksson is the main idea, but I'd think after seeing Marleau dumped at the cost of a first, that the Canucks would have to dump at least around a first too. Eriksson is awful at his cap hit and Vancouver has no leverage in trying to get out of his contract.

difference with Marleau is that Toronto didn't take any money back let alone give up a young fast prospect and a draft pick . and Eriksson helps Ottawa hit the cap floor too
