If Winnipeg is moving Ehlers its to clear salary, not take on more salary. I dont see how these teams can help each other to be honest

Both Players they are taking are on 1 year deals, so they can either flip them for picks or use them (because they are both decent players) and decide at end of year if they want to keep them. At least that was my thinking behind this trade.

Ya but then Winnipeg is still stuck with them as own rentals, they aren't resigning them at the end of the season. While Calgary gets Ehlers for the foreseeable future and gives them a very, very good second line. Just think it helps out Clagary more then Winnipeg. If Calgary took on Perreault or Kulikov with Ehlers I think its worth it.
