We see how many teams are close to over the cap. Sens should concentrat on UFAs or taking cap dump from teams who need expel some moderately priced good veterans. Overpaying for players who really don't want to playn for you (Point, McAvoy)

you have to use 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 on point and you dont have another 2020 first to do macavoy. The draft picks must available in the nearest entry draft, unless the compensation requires two or more draft picks in the same round: an extra year can be used to for compensation for these picks (if two 1st round picks are required, the club must have two 1st round picks available in the next three drafts)

you can defer one 1st round pick by a year therefore this works

it says it has to be from the nearest entry draft if you give up next years first you cant offer anyone else because you dont have the pick anymore. it doesn't mean from the closest you have.
