3yr deal is 8 per MAX. 9.167 should be x6

i'd love 8 or 8.75, but the contract structure i think will end up like this. keeps aav in line, gets upfront cash, sets up arbitration to cash in at 24

He gets all money upfront but AAV would be 8 or below on 3yr deal.

He is not getting more on 3yr deal. Thats not happening. I highly doubt he is getting 10 or more on any deal.

I think there are 3-4 options.. 2 offersheet options - 10.56 x 5 which Leafs would match because of low compensation and above 10.56 that they would not match. And 2 signing options. 8 or below on 3yr deal or 9-9.5x6

I’m just scared they won’t do what’s best for the team and take the picks if it comes down to that

The best thing if it was 4 1sts is to take the picks and use them on top-4 Dman and top-6 playmaker.

I know that’s what I think but people here think they would use them to draft and develop which would make no sense with the position they’re in right now. I also find it funny how isles fans think it’s a good idea to give him 13 a season and 4 first round picks.

I understand the point of loading up with SB's, but 9.1 is ridiculous for 3 years. 6-7 years at that price.
