It wouldve been, however im saying since the isles were willing to go 12.5 for panarin, theyd most likely go 12.5 for Marner. He got 11.64 with the rags, gotta go with the market

The thing to understand though is if he was offered 12.5 now and 5 years from now if the cap goes up, he's going to want more in his UFA and he'll be 27 (prime, exiting prime during that contract). So we're banking on a 5 year plan that will stranglehold Lou's cap space for, likely, the next 3-5 years. I don't see how that will make us better in the long run. Not worth it
