Did any of us ever say he was for sure coming? I said he would be on Long Island this week (he was), Isles777 said he'd consider a seven year offer sheet at $12.5m (he would), and Jcarlos12 said that theres no proof he wouldn't accept the deal. What the hell was the point of this?

Carlos said in multiple threads and that is leaving and coming to NYI. All you NYI fans thought he was coming and posted your armchair stuff of him coming...well GG but he isn't coming and the Islanders are not making loffs next season. Sorry fellas.

If you're so confident the Islanders aren't going to make the playoffs, you should put your money where your mouth is and bet on it. Right after the leafs signed Tavares, all you guys on twitter acted like you were going to win the cup and constantly trolled Islander fans saying they will finish bottom 5 in the league. The Islanders went on to embarrass the leafs in Tavares first 2 games against his former team ( Tavares day TO!) , finished with more points than the leafs, and actually won a round "bUt yOu OnLy wOn 1 mOrE gAmE". Until the leafs get results, Islanders fans have the bragging rights - you can say whatever you want about how your offense is stacked but until that leads to series wins and blowing out the islanders during the regular season, you have nothing.
