Because he's being extremely greedy. It's not that we've turned on him, it's that he's asking for way too much money. He already declined 11x8 when he's worth about 2 million less. It way be better to trade him and sign a guy like Aho for cheaper

If you believe all the rumors - Aho doesn’t want 7 or 8 years either...so back to square one.

It's not about term, it's about money. Marner is asking to be overpaid by about 2 million, I haven't seen any rumors saying Aho does

The same report that had Canes offering $6x8 also stated that Aho’s camp wanted a 5 year deal. I’d like to correct you that for this RFA class it’s not 100% about term nor 100% about money - they all want both. Think this is why none of them have signed (Rantanen, Aho, Marner, Point, Tkachuk, Laine, Boeser, Connor, Meier, etc etc etc).
