The closer we get I think it's a real possibility Lee walks, which is ok. I think if he gets exactly what he's asking for it'll be the next Lucic contract. Lehner, on the other hand, I can't see leaving under any circumstance

Lehner is higher on my list than Lee. For a couple million more than Lee you could have Duchene or Panarin. I think the Islanders know that and realize there is better bank for the buck in other guys.

Agree with you all around, Josh. Just a what if scenario after reading Staple's article from this morning. Would be tough to see Lee walk at all; I think he's really important to that room and a fantastic captain. As I keep seeing, it doesn't seem like Lou is willing to budge off that 5 year contract offer yet and Lee wants 7 or 8 years. Honestly, I'd meet in the middle at 6 and bring down term a couple hundred thousand bucks for it. I think he means far more to the Isles than any of these other potential FAs do/did. Captain, great in the community, amazing team spokesperson, etc. I'd offer him 6 years at 6.5 mil with a no move clause for the first 3 years and I think that could get it done.

Lehner I think should only get a 2-3 year deal because Sorokin will be coming after next season.

All this is to say, the team I posted above actually (I think) is far superior to what they could have with Lee in the fold.
