Like hell are the Sharks going to trade Radim Šimek for an arguably worse and more expensive player. GTFO of here with that nonsense!

Could agree more. That Defensemen lineup is atrocious. You don’t trade Simek even if he’s recovering from a major injury with a breakout season before that injury occurred.

Also, if you’re going to trade a Defensemen on the fringe of being on the main Defensemen roster, you trade Ryan.

I’d stop watching the Sharks for the season with that trash of a lineup.

You're dreaming if you think they will have much of a better lineup than this. Sure, if my Simek deal is bad, then fine, but it's either I fluff Sharks fans feathers or I do something realistic.

I don’t think you realize how important Dillon is now that Braun is gone. You are basically replacing Dillon with AHL level players. Who the hell is going to be sufficient enough when **** hits the fan and the Sharks turn it over when Burns and EK65 are committed in the offensive push!? You need solid DDs.

The thing is, this Sharks fan doesn't want her feathers (or fins, whatever) fluffed. I want something realistic and plausible - and I am totally okay with Dillon being traded if that's what it takes to get us a good lineup. This, however, is not a good lineup. This is a mess that doesn't understand the team & its needs.

Like, I get it. It's hard to do CapFriendly line-ups when you aren't a fan of that team. But Šimek was out breakout defenseman last year and was actively being the best partner that Burns has had in a loooooong time when he was taken down. We've been following his recovery and rehab and everything is pointing to him being ready to hit the ice when the team comes back - short of an astonishing regression in his skill or their chemistry, I fully expect him to be playing with Burns again.

The other problem I have here is that the the top six is weak as hell. Hertl thrived centering the 2nd line this season - 35 goals, 74 points, and another 10 goals in the playoffs - and he's not going back to being a winger. He was drafted with the idea of making him a center and now that he's there, that's where he's going to be. That leaves you with the problem of not having sufficient strength on the RW - especially since Labanc is nowhere ready for the top line. Heck, moving him up to 2nd is potentially a cause for concern.

There's good thought here, I can see that, but it's just not quite gonna hit the target. :/ :/ :/

I know how important he is. But he also carries the most movable cap. This is the only way they can get some forward depth back.

What forward depth? For example, look down your centers. Besides Couture, everyone at center is around the AHL level/bottom line level. You also paid the hell out of Meier for only 2 years when a bridge deal is a shorter term for less money to see if the player pans out to earn the top dollars next contract around. Over $7 million for Meier makes no sense right now. Sure, if he earns it, then pay the man, but a bridge deal is to see more out of him first. He might play his ass off or he might slump. Not doing $7 million yet.
