That is terrible value. Giroux is the 10th highest scoring player in the NHL over the last 3 seasons combined and Philly has no reason to move him. It will take a lot more than a below average NHL'r and some prospects/picks

Claude is a point per game player with elite possession numbers. A true top line player. Middlestadt is coming off of a career high 25 point season and doesn't nearly project to be a top 6 six forward. The prospects are iffy, no true blue chip, and the picks are useless. 7th round picks have zero value.

Plus, there is no reason for philly to trade their captain so you would inherently have to overpay to begin with.

I stopped reading when you said he wasn't near a top 6 forward. Either he's a top 6 or out of the league. He should be fine and he'll be a top 6 I would put money on it.

Claude is on the wrong side of 30 so it doesn't exactly scream homerun for the sabres with giving up a player with a very high ceiling and lots of talent.
