Nurse won't price himself out of Edmonton - the Oilers have tons of cap space in the summer of 2020.

Washington won't take back any salary, they'll be trading Burakovsky in part because they can't fit his cap hit in.

How do you figure?

Nurse > Gostisbehere

I wouldn't do this trade from Edmonton's perspective - Brown isn't really an upgrade on Kassian and he costs a bit more.

Brown for Benning? Not a chance. https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/233122

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get Burakovsky. I just think a pick going the other way would be more attractive to Washington.

Nurse has size and plays better defensively but won't put up as many points most years so sure Nurse > Gostisbehere
Puljujarvi has not proven a thing at the NHL level and although too early to have that bust label it is sure looking that way. 37 points in 139 games for a player you can't trust defensively? Patrick >>> Puljujarvi
Edmonton 8th > Philly 11th

The drop from Patrick to Puljujarvi is not worth the bump of Ghost to Nurse and 3 spots in the draft especially when RW is not a position of need.

Yeah, I guess I'm not seeing such a huge gulf between JP and NP. JP has had a congenital hip issue which was giving him a lot of pain this year and affected his skating. He had surgery to repair it a few months back and is back skating and training without pain. Up until this year he was scoring 1.30 P/60, while Patrick is at 1.56. Their goal-scoring is nearly identical: 0.58 for Patrick, 0.54 for Puljujarvi.

Also, historically the difference between #8 and #11 is significant, too:

#8:
2011: Couterier
2012: Pouliot
2013: Ristolainen
2014: W. Nylander
2015: Werenski
2016: A. Nylander
2017: Mittelstadt

#11
2011: Siemens
2012: Forsberg
2013: Morin
2014: Fiala
2015: Crouse
2016: Logan Brown
2017: Vilardi

I get that the positional difference and the team needs don't necessarily fit for Philadelphia, but I don't think the value is far off.

Puljujarvi is not a good player, in fact he's not even decent. Philly is getting screwed big time on this deal.

I guess you missed the post above yours, so I'll paste it here:
