Pulock has I believe 4 years of Isles control. They aren't trading him for one year of Trouba, Let's not confuse trade value with on ice value.

It will be a no from the Isles. Pulock and Trouba performed at the same level 5 on 5, with more PP time Pulock can probably exceed Trouba in points. Beau and Perrault are both 3rd liners who performed at the same level, so the Islanders would only get older and more expensive in this trade.

Looks to me like rfa rights are traded not a 1 year contract. If the isles want trouba this may be the path to it. No telling what happens in ufa but I’m sure he would love to go to detroit.

Trouba is an RFA, but it's pretty obvious he is signing for one year and then is UFA in summer of 2020. So many of these Trouba trades don't take in account he is a one year rental. Now if he happens to be traded as sign and trade his trade value does up.

My theory is that it is a one year deal in Winnipeg. If philly makes this deal it’s to sign him long term. This would give them a jump on teams like detroit and the rangers.
