Easy now from isles. If leddy gets moved it will require a top 6 winger and not Shaw as the main piece.

Not ideally. Hes a helluva 3rd line player. But he really shouldn't be a top 6.

Shaw would be the 3c on the isles. Leddy played 2nd most minutes on D for the isles last year, pretty sure trotz wants his #2 d man over a 3c. And leddy is also signed through his prime and only 1 year older so that does not add any value.

shaw is better suited to play wing. and only reason im trading for leddy is because ive read that trotz dont like him.

Shaw is a top 6 player is the bias-est thing Habs fans can possibly say. I'm a Habs fan. I watched every game and looked at the underlying numbers. your not fooling anyone but yourselves.

Leddy being moved has nothing to do with trotz liking him or not. Isles have a group of young d men ready to come up and Leddy would have the most value in a trade among the d men they would move. Shaw has 1 20 goal season, he is not the player they are looking for.

That would depend on how you value positions and true "statuses". Leddy is a top 4 dman true and true. No questions that. Even if Shaw was a top 6 fw. Whats more valuable? Top 4 dman or a top 6 winger? I think free agency and previous NHL trade history answers that very easily.

You cant simply add things to anyone and expect the other team to be just ok with it. Can you imagine LAK trying to pursuade us to take Phaneuf? Umm no thanks........ Ok so what do we add?. Ummm Kopitar, how about that? Lol

The only piece that makes sense for what Isles needs are while giving them something we have depth in is wingers. Drouin, Tatar, Gallagher, Domi (since he was winger before coming to MTL). Now obviously two of those 4 guys are not even available. You know which ones they are. Drouin IMO is too young to move in a trade like this. we'd need a dman like Leddy but at the age of 23-25 coming back instead, so Drouin is off the table. That leaves us with one choice that makes everyone happy and is realistic. Tatar.

They're similar age. Similar cap. Similar in status. Its the piece that makes the most sense for isles. if you don't like it, that's fine but that's what they'd be asking for and what makes sense for both teams in terms of value.

Obviously did not include Shaw. Despite a solid season, you'd be hard pressed to find people in other teams who think he is a top 6 and perception is everything.
