I think this is a fair deal. Likely bot have the same career curve. HABS just need LHD more so than righties. We also have Fleury and Brook to take the RD spot so wouldn't be a bad swap

I don't think either player will really be a too pair guy, but Lajoie could definitely push for an NHL job on that left side next season.

Don't follow MTL closely to know if they expect one of their young RD to be full time NHL players next season, but I think Lajoie could do well on a 3rd Pair with Folin, or if they were to bring back Benn, though playing him on his offhand isn't ideal. I'd also think he'd get the odd look on PP2.

If they want to take the slow approach with him, he could also be a 1LD in Laval. Ride him like a horse in the AHL so he's hopefully better equipped for his next NHL look.
