As a jets fan I’m a lover of pionk. But the rangers might need to add a third round pick

the entire issue he had was playing time. IDK if he would be playing over Kakko, Kravtsov, Buchnevich, Kreider, Zibanejad, possibly strome/chytil.. let alone if the rangers sign panarin. I get not wanting less that 10 m per game, i just don't see him getting more than 11-12 on the rangers which he may not like either

I would have no problem adding a 3rd or maybe a conditional 4th that could become a 3rd based off of points scored.

I'm not going to assume that Kakko and Kratsov will come in and immediately be ready for top 6 minutes. Also I wouldn't be shocked if one or more of Kreider/Strome/Vesey/Namestnikov got traded this year. Lastley I am a big believer you accumulate talent however you can. Roslovic is a quality prospect and would be a great addition to this young forward group.

I think it might make up TOO much of the difference.

I would think the trade is something like

Perreault + Roslovic for Pionk + Strome.

I would be ok with either version. Probably prefer Perreult because another high paid dman is not what we need. And I definitely think he would get ice time here. They are looking for young players and if they make a trade like this it's more likely they trade guys like Vesey, Fast, and Namestikov.

The reason I targeted Kulikov is because of the 1 year left on his contract. The rangers have plenty of cap space and could either buy out or trade Kulikov half retained. I dont know mich about Perreult but from what I've seen I dont think he fits in the plans after this year. But if the second scenario was the trade I'd be more comfortable including vesey or namestnikov instead of Strome.

Perreault would be another cap dump with two years left. Depending on other moves it could be easy to put him at left wing, which would be ghost town if they trade Kreider and dont sign Panarin. Winnipeg might prefer Vesey for cap reasons.
