I would stay away from dach at 3 or 4, I think he maybe a step slow for top line Center, I don’t think you can go wrong with byram or cozens

fair enough, it will be interesting to see how all plays out

Ya I’m hoping to catch draft, this year, might be hohum but got to catch one, and Vegas awards too one of these years, always love the excitement of july one, but never quite lives up to it being a jets fan, not usually much action.

Yea i agree. If youre a jets fan id be wondering whats happening with the team. Truoba isnt coming back, rumors of Laine waning out. What do you think about that one? Has one bad seasons and now isnt thrilled about playing in Winnipeg?

I think he wants his 10 million and keep up with the Jones type contract and he sees the writing on the wall that he’s about to go through arbitration a couple times and dealt like trouba is this summer. I think trouba gets moved at the draft possibly for a decent pick and couple prospects, like philly at 11 and a couple kids. Jets are a budget team, and not a destination city, so continues building and commiting to a nucleus is always changing.

I think I can see Trouba being moved to the Wings. Lots of prospect D and some decent picks the jets could use. As for Laine I can see that as well but honestly, hes a one trick pony. He could out score 99 percent of the league, but doesnt do much else. I think if he could show some defensive skills or passing skills he could boost up to a 10 million dollar deal.

I hope jets gamble and throw a 9 million ish contract at him, with lots of term, show loyalty now, same as ehlers, and scheifele, got to gamble on potential, after his nasty slump, I think he turned a corner and started to figure out a more complete game.

I agree. I think 8 years at 8.5-9.5 million is fair for a guy like Laine cause he can always work on his defense throughout the years

Would much rather gamble on potential, then pay for what he’s all ready done, I can never rap my head around 8 year deals that start in late 20s, other than the gm gambling that it will be somebody else’s problem, or legacy player, but neither win games for that team

Agreed. Was listening to the NHL network last week and they think they need to re structure contracts so they can only have a max of 5 years. Still lots of time for players and makes it more manageable for teams?

Jets did have that policy at one point, only 5 year deals. But it got thrown out the window pretty quick on scheifele and ehlers. There’s a few Hogdson’s out there, but not near as many hossas, hortons,
