Yes and no, yes leafs don’t want any salary coming. But in order for LA to make the trade they need to trade a lesser contract back likely.

You undervalued every single Kings player by miles. Brown for Marleau is insulting. Brown still puts up 50-60+ points a year and is a franchise player. He will never be traded. And honestly if Brown gets traded, Kopitar will probably never be good again and stay in this slump. Brown has been his linemate since his 1st NHL season.

Carter can bring back a 2nd

Quick can bring back a 1st

Kovalchuk i wouldn't even trade.

And you didn't even buyout Phaneuf.

All four of those players are signed to contracts that last 2 years after 35 which makes them buyout proof which lowers their value as assets. Only Quick lacks an NMTC and hasn't threatened to retire if dealt. Also, keep an eye on Texier, he is better than you think.
