I like a lot of this. I don't like the Shattenkirk trade. I think you're getting less than optimal value for Strome and I REALLY don't like the Kreider deal...

The Zucker deal is great though. As is the Nylander deal.

Oh I agree. That's why I wouldn't trade Skjei for just anyone. I just think Nylander is really good too...And he's a bit younger and signed for longer.

Definitely no on the Kreider trade. They are both good, they each have one year left, why should we give up a 2nd round pick.
I would do the Toronto trade, Skjei has been too inconsistent. Though I could see him really progressing in Toronto with better players around him.
I think the Florida and Minny trades are a little too favorable to happen, and trading Strome just to change a 3rd into a second isn't worth it.
Theses are all fresh trades, which is nice. I've traded Vesey to Edmonton for a 3rd round pick something like 23 times now, which is the opposite of fresh.

What if you traded Kreider and the Winnipeg 1st round pick for Barrie and the Colorado 1st round pick? That would be a swap of two good players in their final year and the Rangers move up 4 spots in the draft. Colorado saves almost $1mil in cap space and needs forwards more than defense (they'll have Makar for the full year). And the Rangers could get a good return on Barrie at the deadline since RHD are scarce.

Yeah I think you're overrating Barrie and underrating Kreider here. I think 1 for 1, the only 2 dmen I'd deal Kreider for on expiring deals are Pietrangelo and Josi....
