Trade deadline 2020, trade all possible assets and bring up the kids.

Trade down from 6 to 8, while grabbing a good right hand shot prospect, and drafting Peyton Krebs.
Trade with Tampa to move up and draft Spencer Knight, our future Carter Hart or Jordan Winnington. Tampa gets cap relief to sign Point.
Offer sheet Kapanen in hopes Toronto cant match, if they do, plug in Zadina/Veleno/Rasmussen.
Don't offer Karlsson a contract, unless its $9,000,000 or less.
Don't go after Trouba, if he wants to play here he'll come next summer. Unless Yzerman wants to offer Bowey, Hicketts, 2nd. To which Chevy hangs up.

I wouldnt pay that much to kapanen. if he was being offersheeted you would probably have to but he isnt a 4 million dollar player

I agree he might not be worth $4,200,000. He played on a very good Toronto team so his 44 points might seem inflated. But he has lots of speed, hes young, seasoned between AHL and NHL. I don't foresee him getting less than 40 points going forward, even on a terrible Detroit team. And with the way contract are going these days, by year 2 it could be a very good deal. That's just my own opinion. Fun to play, what ifs.

Way too early to be offering up the likes of Zadina/Veleno/Rasmussen. We haven't even had a chance to see them develop/play. I agree on Trouba, if Winnipeg's asking price is too high which of course it will be. And Spencer Knight, I just don't see it. He'll be an average goalie at best, in my opinion.

My apologies, I meant plug one of those prospects where Kapenen is in the lineup, if Toronto matches. I was torn between Knight or Cam York if hes still there with the Tampa pick, York most likely being the more stable pick.
