Description
Chicago trade is very out there but honestly who knows and how bad does Benning want to keep his job.

A team constructed like this where guys can move up and down the lineup. By no means is this a deep team but it has the right construction to start getting there.

Canucks fans don't want the same d group back so I brought in 3 new pieces.
Canucks needed some wingers. So I brought in a few that can slot into the mix.
And bringing in Crawford (a has been elite goalie) can mentor Demko and push him which is something that can bode well for him.

Also 2nd 1st rounder is conditional. On number of games Crawford plays

Good luck convincing Crawford to waive his NMC...

As for the other trades, they don't really work. All of them are heavily favoring Nucks.

Crawford has one more year left on his deal. He could go back to CHI after this year if he wants.
As for the other trades, The only one I can see playing favours to the canucks might be the Rangers trade but even that is fairly close. I have not moved goldobin or Motte so they could be used as sweateners in any deal if need be.

For startes, people on LTIR have 0 value on trades because they won't effect the cap of neither team. Therefore you're trading Hutton+6th for Miller and you're just basically dumping Sutter to OTT. Miller is worth much more than that, and Melnyk will never take Sutter just to pay more. He's a cheap man. Pionk and Namestnikov are worth 2nd and 3rd round picks. CGY won't deal Bennett to a division rival without overpayment, and that's not it. Also LA as a retooling team have more use for picks than 3rd liners.

That TB trade is interesting though, although Callahan also has NMC that he might not waive just to be bought out of his contract, because the likelihood of he getting a new contract is low at best.

I don't get why people are arguing about that Crawford deal. Canucks wouldn't even offer that lmao. Markstrom had a better year than crawford, in fact if markstrom didn't start the season as bad as be did he would have been a vezina candidate. Look at the stats, he was the best goalie in the league after christmas.

And Wtf why would the canucks want Bennett

None of the deals would be done by the canucks

If players on IR have no value why do their contracts keep getting traded or moved? Clarkson was moved to Vegas to give Columbus cap relief - that was obviously worth something. The same with Nathan Horton, Chris Pronger, etc. I don't have enough knowledge of the CBA details but clearly there is a reason those contracts get moved.

Those contracts affect the cap during offseason, but they'll be moved to the LTIR when the season begins. Then they won't affect the cap anymore.

Also these contracts can be moved in order to reach the cap minimum. Rebuilding teams like ARI or VGK during the expansion draft somewhat benefit from them. This is not the case in this AGM.
