after last playoffs TBL might consider taking back Drouin at this cap to move Mcdonugh who was a no show in TBL sweep with 0pts and a -6 after signing a long term deal .
Sergachev was tied for 2nd in production with he and Cernak being the clear standout pair on the back end . with them committing to both Mcdonugh and Hedman 2025-2026 they may be inspired to make a move .


Mcdough for Drouin makes the most sense for both teams .
Mcdonugh fits what MTL needs at a cap we can live with at a sacrifice that would be cheaper in the long run then trying to sign a Edler or Gardiner .
Drouin fits what TBL needs giving them a 2nd PP unit that's lethal and a way to save face on the Mcdonugh signing .

both teams get back that former 1st rounders they drafted
both teams get a player the media should rally behind . (TBL would have both pieces from the original Drouin trade and could spin it as a win saying Miller was the reward from the NYR allowing their fans to focus on having Drouin , Sergachev and Miller for the cost of Namestinkov , Howden and 2 picks which is actually an impressive return over 3-4 years )

Although it would be stupid to sacrifice Sergachev for Drouin, than sacrificing Drouin for a LD two years after.
