Trading Callahan and JT Miller as salary dumps is the only way to create enough cap space to open a possibility of making a move and re-signing Point. I may have lowballed Point’s contract, but it’s to prove a point that Tampa is in trouble. Teams will not line up to do them any favors, possibly Detroit as Yzerman sees a chance to land JT Miller, or another player.

Two more problems for Tampa. Trading Killorn, Johnson, Gourde, or Palat will prove difficult as they all have NTC.

Second problem is Vasilevsky is due for contract in 2020.

As Tampa is rumored to sign Karlsson, or a UFA, it appears unreasonable to do so.

TB may be forced to dump Callahan and JT Miller, and use prospects to fill the slots. No significant free agent signing. Stick with the same core.
