Nylander Trade: this trade makes it so we lose a 7 mill player, but gain 3-4 players who can play now and a pick, for cheap. Doing this trade allows kadri to be easily traded without a big whole left. Howden is a good prospect who still has potential and can be valuable after he develops. Pionk is really good offensively but not so much defensively so I pored him with muzzin to help even it out, his stats were much better when playing with skjei last year rather than Staal. Namestnikov at half retained is a great defensive player and hard worker who will put up points from our third line. Lindgren is a young defensive defencemen who throws the body and isn’t scared, perfect for what this team needs. Overall I think this trade is key in being under the cap and maintaining our top two lines, doings this allows us to trade kadri without worrying and then being able to sign Kapanen and Johnsson with the extra money as well as a really good third line and two young defencemen.

Kadri trade: we got a fourth line player in nieto who can play anywhere on the ice and match up well against all lines. He’s a hard working player and has experience which will help out in the run in next years playoffs. We get a second rounder and a young player who can eventually develop into a decent player.

Brown trade: we lose cap space getting rid of brown who is mainly just a third or fourth line and we get a pick in return and don’t take any cap back.

Overall I tried to keep our top 6 as that was not our problem, and then get a new bottom six for the most part which i think overall will turn out good. We two new third liners who are young, and talented on both end of ice, a good fourth liner who can play everywhere, and a couple new defence who will hopefully bring life back there plus a couple mill in cap room for wiggle room. A zaitsev trade is possible of course but we’d have to add something maybe a defencemen or something and then I think Timothy and sandin can soon come up.
