If you look at other deals for similar players it's usually 6 years at around 6 (adjusting for cap increases). Seth Jones 5.4, Parayko 5.5, Lindholm 5.2. McAvoy is good, but hard to argue he's that much better than those guys.

He already turned down a long term deal and Bob McKenzie said McAvoy said he wants to bet on himself and take a bridge deal.
