There's like one decent piece going back to the pens in Ryan Lindgren.

Only thing that has to be taken into account is Malkin's age.. he's already 32 and on the down trend of his career. Throw in injuries he's sustained through the years and his price decreases a bit. I think that if this is the package tho, the WPG 1st goes with it.

only thing is, the other trades don't make much sense here

Over the last 3 years, Geno ranks 6th in points among all NHL centers and 3rd in P/GP. Pitts window is only going to get smaller, so if they are moving Geno, they are going to want some impact pieces back.

those were also some of his prime years from 29-31.. i'm not saying there is no way he could replicate it, i'm just saying at this point in time it's typically downhill.. they could probably get a better offer from a similarly windowed team like nashville, etc. This move does somewhat extend their window as they add a ton of players with most being under the age of 26, but at the same time you'll never replace what Malkin brings in any trade. It does need to have either wpg's 1st added or kreider

What it boils down to in a Geno trade is you want quality, not quantity back. The OP's offer is more quantity than quality. Like you said, a 1st or Kreider need to be involved.
