Description
Veleno, Zadina, and Rasmussen aren't quite NHL ready, unless they have a big offseason. A year in the AHL will probably help them, and they can always get called up if they prove to be ready.

Wings need to know what they have in Svechnikov before he becomes eligible for waivers.

Aquire a free asset in Raddysh for one year of Callahan's contract so Tampa can re-sign Point. Would make sense since Yzerman obviously knows BriseBoise.

Sign a guy like Pominville or Brassard as a one year stop gap/deadline bait. Guys who would take a one year deal on a bad team knowing they will have a decent role and an opportunity to prove to competitors they still have something to offer. A veteran hungry for a contract is better than a veteran who is guaranteed money.

Next year insert Zadina, Veleno, Rasmussen, Raddysh, and 2019 6th overall for Pominville, Callahan, De La Rose, Witkowski, and one of Helm/Abdelkader get's waived, the other rides the pine.

But you're getting Taylor Raddysh. He's a very good right handed forward prospect. Over half a point per game in the AHL and fits our timeline and the identity we're building towards well.

Callahan's money does nothing to us, we still have $8mil. Only the delusional think we'll be competitive next year so cap space doesn't matter.
Look at our seconds over the past few years. McIssac, Berggren, Barton, Smith, and Lindstrom (I may be forgetting someone). The only one of those I'd say is a better prospect than Raddysh is McIsaac. Raddysh for a 2nd, a late one at that, is fair value. The 6th was just kind of a throw in.

no the money means nothing to us but it means tons for tampa to move it thus lowering the value of the trade I dont care if callahan makes 14 million next year

Why is Svechnikov who is recovering from a very serious injury going to make the team when he is waiver-exempt all next year (by virtue of being on IR all last year)?

Callahan trade is not enough return. Tampa needs depth d-men and we have plenty of those guys look for Daley to be moved.

And Helm looses his NTC because the Wings didn't make the playoffs come July.
