Why would Columbus make that trade? Wennberg has value due to the fact that he’s still fairly young. Both players coming to Columbus make more combined then he does and both are older then he is, some would argue both players are worse then Wennberg too.

I’d love to hear your reasoning to make that trade from the Columbus side.

Vegas would probably want more for Colin Miller. I'd expect at least a 2nd round pick going with Baertschi.

Hear me out. Wennberg has two extra years on his contract. Sutter is the prototypical Torts 3rd line Center and more defensive minded than Wennberg. Sutter only has two years left and Spooner is on an expiring contract. Would you do the swap one for one?

Not really.... Sutter and Jenner are the same player at that point and Jenner is on a better contract. Wennberg was supposed to be a skill guy that Columbus is in desperate need of. Though I do get you point about the other contracts being shorter and understand that it’s a fair trade for role players.

Jenner plays both. Vs Boston he was on the 4th line, for some dumb reason, but he would take most of the faceoffs and Dubinsky would take them in the d zone. Then again dubi would take most of the d zone faceoffs and go to the bench when we got out of the zone.
