In my opinion, it wouldn't be authentic to not include some ELC's because the ELC players I have listed all have at least two years left on the deal, which is part of what makes them cost-effective. Matthews is cost-effective on an ELC but in reality, is about to start making over $11 million, whereas Pettersson is going to be on his ELC for a couple more years. Contract length was a big determining factor into who I listed here because it would defeat the purpose to list a bunch of amazing 21-year-olds like Matthews, Marner or Point who are about to get royally paid. The only guy who is on an expiring contract is Byron but even he is about to start making $3.4 which is still fairly good value for a 20 goal scorer.
