Not bad. I hope we don't spend more than 2 mil on a backup goalie. I also think Eaves will end up on LTIR all season next year. He and Kes will open up 10 mil in cap space if that happens. Might be able to go after a big fish this offseason if that ends up being the case.

only down side i see to signing the vet d men, is it takes away the spots for the young guys. Larsson and Megna were playing well down the stretch for the ducks. And I agree with HardRock, if the ducks were to go after a big fish dman, I would be very happy as a fan. I would like to see Karlsson (like every other fan for their team), but I wouldnt be shocked if it was either Myers that comes in, or they trade for a dman to solidify the top 4.

If these numbers are in fact what these players will fetch this summer, then this is a fine example of what the Ducks will probably look like next year. at least on D. Comtois and Jones will most definitely not be scratches. If they're on the roster, they're playing. I feel they both deserve ice-time over Perry but obviously moves will have to made (not necessarily involving Perry. which would be preferable) to fit these kids into the lineup.

As an interesting aside though, Gates, Olson and Ruggiero are all likely not to be signed by us. Gates and Ruggiero I'm certain of and Olson I'm assuming. I mean two weeks to go and he's not even on an ATO with the Gulls. That's a bad sign to me.
