they wont pass on that for a goal scorer during a rebuild in which they have many many top forward prospects.

NYR biggest hole can be filled long term in taking Byram as top D usually stay a longer period then top goal scorer's who follow the money .
NYR would be stupid not to pick a guy who will play 8-10 minutes more a game on average then Kakko IMO

Galchenyuk went top 3 becaause it was what MTL needed ,Dubois was taken by CBJ for the same reason and Hischer was taken by NJD for the same reasons .

BPA = from the teams perspective , not yours

Byram is the #1 D available and you're ignoring that as if teams like NYR who heavily need LD prospects will choose to ignore their own needs to draft another forward of which they have Chytil ,Andersson ,Howden ,Lemieux , and 4 picks in the top 2 rounds this year including two first rounders . given how weak the D quality is after Byram they'd be Daft not to take him as this draft is littered with Goal Scorer's and Centers but next to no Defensive Quality that's NHL ready outside Byram
