Malkin is 32, $9.5M for next 3 years instead of pursuing Karlsson or Panarin.
Lias Andersson is a major building block.
Georgiev looks amazing and who knows how Shesty does.

Yegor Rykov is a nice prospect who we should keep.

also spoils the Lucas Raymond, Quintin Byfield, Alexis Lafrenire pursuit.

Georgiev is at best a low end starter/high end backup.

I don't "need to watch them play", the eye test is prone to extreme bias as you've shown here

rykov is the farthest thing from a random prospect andersson would be your best prospect georgiev is a good 23 yo goalie who looks promising

Hallander probably will end up in the same position as Andersson, a decent 3C, there's no way he'd be the Pens best prospect.

Pens have no use for Georgiev. They have Murray who's a solid starter and DeSmith who they just signed to a 3 year extension. If you get lucky, Georgiev probably ends up as a better version of DeSmith

Goaltending was far from the Pens issues in round 1. Georgiev wouldn't have helped.

And if Pionk is trash, then how is the original trade proposed an overpay? You're just solidifying that it's not a good trade for the Pens

thats basically want Friedman said in his podcast, if they move Malkin, its not for futures bc as long as Crosby is there, the pens are going for it every year, they wont be waiting for pieces to arrive and develop in any potential Malkin trade
