The Hurricanes made the playoffs for the first time in 10 years, and yet earlier this year the Hurricanes were rumoured to be interested in moving Pesce for whatever reason. I am assuming they're looking for a dynamic young forward, especially one that's right handed (their top forwards - Svechnikov, Niederreiter, Aho, Teravainen - are all lefties). That would be Nylander. Pesce is a top-pairing shutdown defenceman, so Toronto would likely need to pay a little more (the second round pick).

As a Wings fan I would hate to see Glendening go...but it mskes sense for both teams. Babcock loved Glendening's tenacity, hard work and defensive play, and it seems Brown has little (if any) use for Toronto in the future being that he may become unaffordable. Glendening is a great 4th line center.

I am NOT AT ALL a fan of Kadri. Yes, hes a good, gritty 2 way center, but I do not feel that Kadri is benefitting the team by playing dirty like he does. It hurts the team. They can replace or even one-up his defensive play, grit and toughness at half the cap hit (guys like Glendening, Austin Watson, Antoine Roussel, William Carrier, Alex Iafallo) but lose the offensive upside...which really doesn't seem to be a problem being that this is the Leafs. I don't need to explain how and why their offence is elite.
The Leafs also get a very reliable backup, which is the one thing missing from this lineup. A spot is also freed up for Bracco
