Description

I am a Red Wings fan. After watching the Sharks through the playoffs, they really could have used a solid backup option such as Howard. The Sharks and WIngs were on the phone making the Nyquist trade there is no reason why these peices could not have been added in. The Sharks might have had the ability to make a deep playoff run instead of being bounced in the first round.

Howard won't leave Detroit which is part of the reason why he wasn't traded at the deadline. At the deadline last year Holland said nothing less than a 1st rd pick for Howard.

Holland also said he would not trade Nyquist for anything less than a 1st. Him saying that was him trying to leverage the best offer possible. On top of that Howard had no NTC and Holland would have moved him if the right offer was made, there was just no market for goalies at the deadline this year.
