Those Tampa and Ottawa trades are actually really good and realistic from both sides. I can definitely see them happening. However I'm not sure Carolina would trade Hamilton.

I was hesitant, as well. I just think this Draft outcome (Kakko) made Kreider completely expendable (even if they don't get Panarin). With this new depth we've accumulated on the wing (plus Kravtsov)) along with our Center depth, using Kreider to speed up the rebuild on Defense makes the most sense. A Kreider for Trouba trade came to mind, but the Trouba to the Rangers have been beaten to death, so just trying to think outside the box.

This defense looks like a cakewalk to play against. I'd classify Hamilton, Shattenkirk and Deangelo as "Soft" offensive Dmen and I haven't seen enough of Fox or Hajek to pass judgement on them. Hamilton, Shattenkirk and Deangelo have all been a trainwreck at times making poor decisions, so to collect them all seems like a crappy fit to me.

Everyone knows Shattenkirk has been sub par, just no way to dump him at this point. DeAngelo took great strides, so I am more comfortable with him in the Top 4. I believe Fox (if they get him) prefers the right side. So that would be your Top 3 on the Right. Really would be more beneficial to find a stud LHD to put in front of Skjei and Hajek. K'Andre Miller can be that eventually. Just not sure if he leaves school this year.
