It doesn't matter if he's been good or not. They cannot be paying the bottom pair 7.25M, he'll have to be traded.

The breakdown for the Maatta trade is fine. A cheaper bottom pair RHD and draft depth is a good return. Really doubt they're getting much more than that

if they have to choose between JJ and Gudbranson, JJ should have his bags packed. Even though I think he's really been playing well lately. I honestly think their defense is pretty good. It's the forward group that's the issue and the solution next year will be more youth not high priced players. They need more young legs. Which means they can afford to pay the bottom pair.
