I really like what you have done. Keeping the guys we need, adding assets, etc. the only things I don't agree with are Vrana's contract, not keeping connolly and Burakovsky trade.
when it comes to v's contract, i think it is way too much. yes, he is good, and will get better. But as of now o think a 2-3 year bridge deal would be smarter. Plus you can use that 2 million to see if Connolly will stay for less.

as for the burakovsky trade, i am not totally against it, but i think it will come down to how he preforms the rest of the year and in the playoffs. So I am not totally against trading him, but if it is between trading Burkie, but keeping dowd and haglien, or keeping bura but losing haglien and dowd. I would go with the latter.

I personally don't mind the Vrana deal. If he does get better, you get a fringe 1st liner for a pretty good price, and he could take over the spot on the top line if Ovechkin decides that he wants to go back to Russia for a year to play in the Olympics. If you want to free up cap space for Connolly, the best place to do that is by trading Niskanen.

Yeah Recently I have been hearing Niskanen rumors which I would not mind if we dealt him, but I don't know where we would find his replacement, especially because he keeps Orlov in check most of the games. And for Connolly, I love him but he is 26 a former top 10 pick who put up 45+ points and 20+ goals I feel as if he may have played so well he priced himself out of Washington and if he takes a discount to stay that would be awesome.
