Would make much more sense to buy out Killorn. Save a couple million, plus Callahan’s deal expires the year after

Thanks, I didn’t think of that. I’m a Rangers fan trying to understand Tamps team and prospect pool. How’s the 4th line?

    I’d replace Verhaeghe with Raddysh.

Palat and Johnson have NTC that already are kicked in for the next couple years or so and I don't see them waiving to leave this team. Miller is reckless IMO as he seems to always have bad turnovers.

Nothing it's just that Miller is the first that has to go after Callahan. Either him or let Point/Vasy walk.

So you would rather keep Gourde? I prefer trading away Gourde than Miller...

This is why I originally said "Everyone always forgets about the NTCs"...

I can almost promise you that Gourde won't be traded. Reason being is we signed him to a 6 year, 31 mil (@5.167m cap hit), with a NTC until July 1, 2022 when it becomes a modified NTC. Technically his NTC doesn't kick in until July 1st this summer, but signing a player (especially long term) and immediately trading them is not how they do it the NHL. Looks terrible for the franchise and makes other NHL players want to avoid the possibility of ever joining TBL out of fear for themselves signing long term and then getting traded against their wishes. I thought Gourde may be an exception since I believed Yzerman stepped down after the Gourde extension. I was wrong, Yzerman left before his extension.

As far as player comparison, I agree with you on preferring to trade Gourde before Miller. I'm an analytics addict and overall they're both pretty similar players in almost all areas of comparison. Nearly same age (Miller turned 26 today, Gourde turns 28 in December) ; both physical players (Miller clearly the bigger of the two) ; both put up very similar scoring stats ; have near identical cap hits ; etc... But overall there's a couple reasons I prefer keeping Miller.

    1. Slightly younger. 2. More height & weight which the fwd lineup is lacking. 3. Modified NTC. Allows us to trade him if we want/need to... not when Miller wants to be traded.
