I think everyone says no, but you’ve got a shot with Arizona. Someone gives panarin 11
Thanks for the reply.
What are your thoughts on why everyone says no.
My thoughts on the ARI trade is that ARI needs skill and toughness in their roster. Kessell brings Cup experience and still has a scoring touch that he can provide to a young roster, that has trouble scoring goals. He could be a good mentor for Keller (as a player, not off the ice haha) and they have the possibility of being pretty dangerous playing on the same line.
VAN is looking for help on the back end and Maata is a proven, young top 4 D. Virtanen is a good power F, but he hasn't yet shown that he's going to be the offensive threat that VAN thought he was going to be when they drafted him. Juolevi is still just a high end-talent/prospect, so trading him for a proven D-man makes alot of sense, especially when VAN has an elite offensive D man in their system, in Hughes.
I agree that someone might be willing to offer Panarin 11 millon (although I think that is too much to pay for a 27 year old winger, even if he is elite). However, he could be very willing to take a lower salary to play with his country-man, Malkin. In addition, as much as all of the rumors point to him wanting to play in a bigger coastal city, I would have to believe that he would be very intrigued with the idea of winning a cup with Sid and PIT.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks again.
