Duchene is a much better player than Schenn. However, Schenn is cheaper and younger. But before I would make my case either way I cant understand why this GM would buy out Mason????????

statistically they are similar. Schenns only younger by a few months, but he is bigger. Schenn had to mature a little where as Duchene became a top scorer immediately, and has stayed about the same level, except one exceptional season. Avs can probably sign Schenn cheaper, and if the team is looking to send a message through a shake up, Duchene is the odd man out. I don't think it's unfair at all.

Duchene can literally skate circles around Schenn. When he doesn't have to drag Iginla around the ice, expect more 70pt seasons.
