I think they'll stay rumours as a rebuild of this size is ultimately unrealistic. No Ranger owner is gonna get sold on trading every single high end asset the team has for prospects and draft picks. Yes they might turn into good young players but they also might end up being like the Oilers. Stuck in a perpetual cycle of suck-itude. That's not a risk a big budget team like the Rags will consider IMO. Even with return, they'll be years away from competing on the highest stage again.

They already have the framework for a good team. They need to deal with their bad contract decisions first and then they'll be all right going forward. (Staal, Girardi)

I agree, Marco, the Ranger's core is still relatively young (McD 26, Stepan 25, Kreider 25, etc.) and a rebuild isn't what they need. Rangers are the perfect example of a team in need of retooling. They've mortgaged a lot of their future though to be in a retooling stage, so it will be interesting to see how they handle it. The best possibility for the Rangers is that they end up like the Sharks of today and have an older, experienced core with some good signings and young players. The Rangers could have the most exciting or least exciting off season coming up.

why then do you think what you posted is remotely realistic?

Where did I say it was realistic or even what I expected? As Marco and my description pointed out I did this just to see what kind of pieces the Rangers had and what I thought they could get/build with them. Not everyone on this site is like you...some people know how to have discussions, provide feedback, and actually discuss trades and signings. All I've seen from you are **** posts and comments so if that's what you want to do then fine but don't expect to actually get a response on here if you can't act mature enough in your own.
