Colorado is reeling right now, having lost 8 in a row. The Avs have 6 games until the deadline: @ WPG, vs STL, vs VGK, vs WPG, @ CHI, @ NSH

That's a rough schedule, considering 3 of those teams are certain locks for the playoffs and the other 2 are red-hot. If the Avs tumble during this stretch, look for Sakic to sell off some assets, starting with Colin Wilson.

I HATED playing against Colin Wilson in the playoffs when he was on the Preds--he has game-breaking speed and an edge to him that makes him a playoff-producing wizard ( a la Joel Ward).

Avs will sell looking towards next year but Wilson will get more than a 5th especially with retained salary. Brian boyle just got a 2nd rounder 19 pts in 51 games. WIlson has 18pts in 48 games. Thats a 3rd round pick all day long

And I should add that comparing point totals is very iffy when valuing draft picks.

I'd keep Wilson, plus I doubt he gets traded unless he has recovered from injury. I'd also take Wilson over Boyle. Comparable basic stats and younger.
