I feel like you can get more for Simmer. Matteau is an AHLer for life...and those picks are not great either.

Quantity is not what we are looking for. A 1st is the minimum price.

I don't believe VGK will give up any of their top 10 prospects (they have a relatively thin prospect pool this early in their history)....Dugan is their 15th rated prospect (good size and speed according to scouting reports)....I couldn't see anyone else to be thrown into a trade....I think the Flyers can get a 1st out of Vegas if the bidding war starts up between teams....Simmonds' production has taken a downturn, even though I believe his 5on5 play has improved....

If Vegas offers a 1st I think it would be a conditional 1st....if they make the Conference Final/Stanley Cup or Simmonds were to resign....I can't see any playoff bound team giving up a good piece of their team right before the playoffs....chemistry going into the postseason is important.

I also think Fletcher looks for a Simmonds replacement in FA in the offseason.

If you can't see anything else better than Dugan to offer than these two teams aren't good trade partners and this deal would never happen. Can't just two teams and expect them the trade just because.. the deal has to make sense for both teams.

I was just looking at scenarios for teams that are on the playoff bubble or may be looking for more depth/firepower. I didn't say they were good or even decent trade partners. I like Simmonds....I like him on this team....but up to a certain cost....he has to submit a 12 team approval list to PHI before they even consider moving him.....I'm looking at teams that he may be interested in. Could this package be improved? Absolutely....but what's the cost of a rental player who may or may not sign?

I think they would be more interested in depth players like Laughton or Raffl. Their top 6 is pretty well set.

They may very well be looking at depth only. Again just posting scenarios about teams that may have an interest in Simmonds for the playoff run....not something I think will actually happen.
