Description
Trading Hart will benefit this team in the future as they can ride with the real future goalie in Stolarz and Hart's value may never be higher than this so they should trade him for a king's ransom now

You're right, he isn't Carey Price, he might be better! I would love to hear what you are basing your rational on...

I think Philly fans will crucify you for this, but I’ll try to give you logical reasons why Hart is the future and not Stolarz. Stolarz has not started two consecutive games and registered a .900 sv% in both. That’s a problem. He’s a great backup, but even an elite backup is not a solid starter. Hart has done it 4 times in one fewer game. I won’t say that Hart is Carey Price, but these stats shock me.

without Hart: 30.5 SAPG, 3.67 GAPG, 14-18-6
With Hart: 32.8 SAPG, 2.45 GAPG, 11-5-1

So the defense has been worse since Hart arrived yet they’ve been one of the top teams in the league since he arrived. Hart has been scarily similar to Price since he’s hit the majors. He’s singlehandedly transformed Philly into a playoff contender from a bottom three team. I’d rather keep Stolarz and Hart as an incredible goalie combo.

alright I'm just thinking the Flyers have way too many problems that trading Hart could fill a lot of those holes and Stolarz is a solid goalie to build a team around cause usually teams with superstar goalies don't win cups cause of their many other problems. See the Habs as a reference for that

I get what you're saying I just think that teams with superstar goalies have trouble filling other holes so trading Hart at what might be his peak value might be smart but I also see why they would keep him since he has the most potential as a goalie since Price

You do know that we are 9-0-1 in the last 10 right...
Our D's average age is 25 and that is with AMac being 32 which brings the age up by over a full year. We also have Frost, Farabee and countless others very close or likely ready next year. So again, what are these holes you speak of?

yes wow you won some games in a row doesn't mean your team is any good look at the Sabres who won 10 in a row at one point and that team is garbage this is just another hot streak doesn't mean your team is good or a finished product cause it isn't close to that

No way the Flyers do this for multiple reasons.

1) Carter Hart has pedigree (2 time CHL goalie of the year and 3 time WHL goalie of the year - WHL is known for scoring, not D and he shut them down)
2) He is very poised for a 20 year old, teams like that in their younger players.
3) If you are calling it a king's ransom (a la Gretzky trade), this is not it.
4) Are you a Flyers hater? Seems like it.

Okay, so you aren't a hater. So let's break your trade down

1) Barrett Hayton - seems like he is the number 2 center on the team, Frost is #1. So he isn't even better than one of our prospects currently
2) Lawson Crouse - seems like he could have used more time in the AHL. Doesn't seem to be putting up great numbers
3) Calvin Pickard - why would we want this dumpster fire back? We waived him
4) 1st round pick - I think Arizona sucks so this should be top 10, if not top 5.
5) Two 2nds - The chance a 2nd rounder plays quality time (except goalie for some reason) in the NHL is very low.

If Arizona calls Chuck with this, he hangs up the phone. If he calls and offers this, the fans will crucify him. I'm not saying Hart is the greatest thing we have seen in goal since Bernie (although watching the games I would say it sure looks like it), but he has shown the ability to at least get hot at some level. The goalies on the win 7 or more in a row before 21 are all goalies that many would consider to be very skilled in their time in the league. Even Jocelyn Thibault had a very long career as a starter and maybe just got unlucky with the teams he was on. If that's our floor (Jocelyn Thibault) with Hart, I will take it!

I also meant to give a second 1st rounder from 2020 which adds to the value. But I think you're wrong about Hayton he is better than Frost and has the capabilities of being like a Bergeron kind of 1st line center with unbelievable defensive abilities

And so does Pittsburgh? I agree that Philly isn’t a contender but there’s only a few points separating them and the Penguins. Philly has a great D core - it’s young and has a few needs but they’ll get better with experience and Hart seems to do well behind them. They have an incredible wealth of talented prospect in their system. A couple more would be nice but Philly’s retool is over. They’re set for the future. It’s better to just build internally and stick with Hart. He’s more proven then the King’s ransom that you’re getting. There’s a chance that none of those guys pan out. Starting Goalies are harder to find than A prospects.

It is the most relevant one you will find. Do you really think all that much has changed when it comes to prospects since then? I'll take the experts opinion over yours any day of the week.

Fair enough you don't have to credit my opinion at all I'm just telling you what I think about your prospect system and I think it is overrated. Just so you know I could be anyone I could be an expert, I may or may not work for an pro hockey team you don't know but discredit my opinion just cause you don't like it

No, because it makes no sense. You have given no explanations as to why you think you are right. You have been presented with data on Hart and yet refuse to acknowledge it.
