ARI
  1. Kulikov, Dmitry
  2. Roslovic, Jack
Détails additionnels:
ARI gest more skill and speed in Roslovic and a top 4D in Kulikov. Kulikov waves NTC to play a bigger role in AZ.
WPG
  1. Fischer, Christian
Détails additionnels:
WPG gives up Roslovic in deal because ARI takes on Kulikov's contract, in order to create space for WPG's priority RFA's. Fischer brings speed, size and grit on on the W and will be more affordable to sign as a RFA. Would play a good bottom 6 F roll for WPG.

Jets say no. They would prefer to give up a first round pick instead of Roslovic.

Given how difficult it is to acquire a center the Jets shouldn't trade Roslovic unless the return is way too good to pass on. Also with how good Kulikov is playing I see no reason to move him.

Personally, I'd rather not do the Gudbranson deal. I agree Connauton has to go but we don't have give up our best wing prospect and take on more salary to give him up. Send him to anybody for a 7th round pick and I'm happy.

I think that if you added Merkley in to the Jets deal they would be more inclined to take that trade, but still not convinced they'd pull the trigger

Thanks for the comments!

I don't disagree with you that Roslovic is valuable to WPG and that they would probably rather give up a draft pick than trade him. However, this trade is predicated on the decisions that WPG is going to have to make with the core player RFA's that they will need to sign after the 18-19 season. Laine, Connor, Trouba, Morrow, and recently Brossiot are all RFA's at the end of this year. WPG will be stuck making some difficult decisions on trying to fit all of these player under the cap. The fact is that some players need to be moved in order to sign the players that WPG considers as their priorities. Rolsivic is a very good talent, but is he worth keeping to prevent signing some of the RFA's previously mentioned. I don't know the answer, but some players on their roster will need to be moved. In addition, Roslovic hasn't gotten a ton of time as a #2 C or at C all together during his time up in the NHL. He has primarily been used as a W. I think he could be a very effective C, but I don't see him playing above Little for the time being.

Maybe Trouba is sent somewhere for a big package. I wouldn't be surprised if that happened, given the history of contract negotiations between the two parties. But moving Kulikov allows WPG to free up some space to focus on possibly resigning him or other player on the back end. I agree Kulikov is playing well right now, but I think if they are able to keep the core of their back end and also move some money to free cap space, I could see them favoring the latter.

What are your thoughts? Thanks again!
