I know the Oilers desperately need top 6 forwards but I wouldn’t want them to part with that for Zucker if I was an Oilers fan. Puljujärvi might be one of those top 6 forwards you need, don't give up on him yet!

I don't either... But you gotta give up something to get something.. puljujaarvi isn't given any ice time. 7 minutes a night is terrible for the guy .

I agree, I don't think Hitchcock is the answer their right now. Initially when he came in I thought he could get them to tighten up defensively cause after the big 3 there isn't enough offense to outscore anyone but Hitch's lines just aren't conducive to scoring. I know there isn't much to work with but putting Pulujarvi with Brodziak and Kassian isn't gonna help the team score more goals and it's gonna do very little for Pulujarvi's development.
I'm fully aware you gotta give up something to get something but is Zucker really gonna make that much difference? I really think the Oilers need to get a new GM and coach who can stabilize things(see what Lamirello and Trotz have done for the Islanders for an example of what I mean) there next season and as bad as this sounds just go with what they already got next season. They don't have enough cap space to make a significant free agent addition and they can't afford to be losing assets cause they have so few of them. After next season there'll be $10 million in cap space to use from 5 expiring contracts, not sure who's set to be free agents in 2020 but maybe it'd make more sense to go after someone in free agency then or bring in someone via trade to use that cap space.
I don't know man, it's a real mess their but I think they need to stand pat for another season unless they're gonna make a major trade.

I totally agree with what you say, I thought he'd be a major help. But it goes to show what chirielli totally did to this team. I think Zucker would be a real big help. He's got speed, he's got skill and can definitely score. locked up long term , no need to worry about him bolting. But I don't see anything in the Oilers pipeline that screams goal scorer. Kirill is doing great in the juniors. But that's so far away before that even becomes something. Look at how Pittsburgh toiled for years wirh Malkin and Crosby , till Rutherford stepped in.. paid a heavy price for good skill locked up. Not saying these are those moves. But there's an if puljujaarvi turns it around and becomes a real good player and there's an if ... He puts it all together . Just wasting mcdavids years. You know ?

Yeah I hear ya, it's just such a mess their and you're probably right that they need to add a Zucker type. I just checked the 2020 UFA list of forwards and there isn't many intriguing names other then RNH and Hall but I doubt Taylor is gonna sign with the Oilers.. Lol
But would that package be enough to get Zucker, and if not how many more future pieces are you gonna add before it's just too much futures to sacrifice?
Also I thought Caleb Jones looked pretty good and the Oilers have a lot of LHD, wouldn't moving Nurse be a better idea and might get you a better bang for your buck?

We have a metric tonne of LHD. We can ship out a good young dman for something along those lines. I would turn a 5th/6th round pick into an NHLer any day. Keep nurse BC he's only going to get better. I used 2 of Edmontons more promising young players plus a couple of picks .. plus they get cap space . Make some room for some shake up. But oilers will be making one of these moves in the next couple of weeks. Just scared on what will be coming our way... And what will be moving .
