Neither of these things are happening. The Saad trade isn’t close. Saad is probably worth a late first with some salary going back the other way.

Saad is without question worth a late 1st and no salary going back at the TDL and that's being stingy for Saad. He's a two way winger which are hard to find and a special teams player. Gus is certainly worth Tolvanen and a cap dump as he's worth a late 1st at the TDL.

Bruh he has 36 points last year and is on pace for 45 this year. That’s a 40 pt average on a 6M salary. You’re eating some of it or taking salary back

Bruh? LMAO He's a two way forward and a penalty kill specialist....you don't judge that kind of forward based on points. You look more at the advanced stats. Carolina offered a 1st rounder for him in the offseason and Hawks said no, and value gets better at the TDL no worse.

Well that seems foolish to turn that down. You can get 2 way guys cheaper. I need more productionfrom a 6M player. Sorry to break it to you.

Pay is based on the type of player, not soley points they put up for a forward. It's like comparing Turbo Tuevo to Saad...totally different player; one is there to produce points the other to play an agressive two way game and be a special teams guy against the power play. Is Saad overpaid by $500K to $1M, maybe or maybe not...it's debatable but it's not debatable in a isolated discussion around points for that type of player.

Agree with your Saad take but you can't seriously value Gus that high... he's a #6 and a PP specialist. I would take a third rounder for him, and I'm pretty sure Scott Powers said the same. As for Tolvanen, he's one of the better prospects right now and his value is probably 3x Gustafsons

The score said he's worth a late 1st rounder and multiple other sources say the same. Gus is a solid offensive lineman...the problem in Chicago, we don't have any stay at home defenders to pair him with besides Murphy and Seabs and Seabs is just bad at this point. Gus has been paired with Keith, Forsling, Seabs, and Dahlstrom. Not exactly guys he should be paired with. Murphy would be much better and when the rare times they are on the ice together, protection is much better and has allowed Gus to play up the ice and create chances. I'm not saying Gus doesn't need to work on his defensive game better because he does, but I'm willing to bet, on another team with the right defensive pairing, he will turn into someone everyone starts talking about. You can't teach the intangibles Gus has offensively.
