Just demonstrating what a great team we'd have moving forward if we tanked this year, picked up Jack Hughes or Kirby Dach at the draft, and, of course, dumped Randy Carlyle for a better coach. We'd be extremely strong down the C line with Jack/Kirby as our franchise C, Steel a very strong 2C (which is where I see him ending up) and Lundestrom on the 3rd. They would be supported by a full set of wingers with varying skillsets, Rakell, Kase and (IMO) Comtois being solid 1st liners (but, not top tier). The D is solid, especially with Mahura just breaking into the league. Gibson is the GOAT at the back.
I would trade Silf at the TDL for futures. I would draft a D-man after Jack/Kirby (although best player available is my standard strategy at the draft). I would hope that Lindholm takes that next step at 25 years of age now (a la Hedman), otherwise, I start to consider making a big move for the next big D-man available. I would also look to move Fowler at a later date to bolster the offence.
