Leafs lineup for the upcoming season. Give the kids a year of growing pains, and gear up for a playoff run in 2017-2018 when all of the bad contracts come off the books (laich, bernier, greening, robidas, gleason buyout) and even any upcoming ufa with one year left on their deal or potential one year deal signings (hunwick, zatkoff, smith etc.)
Going to be honest not sure if anyone would want michalek but I figure arizona has cap space and could look to add some scoring for one year in michalek plus reuniting with his brother. The bozak trade was done assuming datsyuk bolts to russia, they made need a centre to replace some of his production and bozak has some term and scoring upside.
The forwards look set, hopefully someone could take lupul off our hands, I have brown as an extra due to the inevitable injury coming for lupul. Defence will need some work the following offseason (hedman maybe? one can dream) but demers provides some immediate help on the right side, and fits into a second pairing role if a top 2 defenceman is acquired. goaltending will be an issue, but the leafs have the assets to take advantage of a team looking to trade a goalie rather than lose them for nothing in an expansion draft (subban, vaselevski, fleury, etc.)
