Seems like a fair trade to me but I don’t think Montreal wants to make this deal, stay the course and build a team,

Either we stay put, we sneak into the playoffs and get bounced in the 1st rnd or we gotta get an upgrade in scoring (Tarasenko) and someone (when healthy, but older than Drouin) who shows up to play every game (Schwartz) and we have a legit chance to put up a fight against TB, TO or WSH in the 1st rnd.

Don’t know who would argue that, Gallagher is awesome and on one a great contract. He puts up points does all the dirty **** and heavy lifting. Would love to have him on my team.

No you can't guarantee anything. There's more chance he'll get traded than staying. We got Domi now . He can do everything Gallagher can and he's younger.

You strongly underestimate physics. Gallagher's game will break him down sooner than later due to his size. Gallagher doesn't have elite skills, and he's not even that fast. Doesnt matter how big his heart is if his body can't take it. You trade him now that his stock is at the highest it'll ever be (age, contract and coming off his best statistical season).

You’re talking about a team that traded for Shea Weber who guess what, has almost 900 games in the NHL and 700 years left to his contract. Clearly this management group doesn’t think like you. PS: Gallagher scored thirty last year, he’s on pace for 30 again, he’s only 26/27 and only seems to be getting BETTER yes I said BETTER, even given the fact that he had 2 hand surgeries on each hand in two back to back seasons on a s h i t e team. People like you were saying trade him a year 2 years ago. He’s a model example of what the management group wants their players to act like on the ice. So I’m my opinion he’s getting resigned. Let’s see what happens. I’ll bet the farm that I’m right.

Weber is the best stay home D. He doesn't need to chase the play up the ice and keep up. That's a bad comparison. What's gonna happen to Gallagher is exactly what happened to Gionta. Gionta got slower and then he became a shadow of what he used to be cause he was effective only when he was infront of the net. He was never a playmaker, and too small to win board battles, his strength was his speed. Same thing will happen to Gallagher but sooner cause he's more physical. I'm glad you think he's getting better, cause you're not the only 1. This means his trade value is really high and could get max return. By 30 Gallagher is done. Ya I always thought he's overly physical for his stature and he'd have a short career.

The 2 injuries were from blocking shots, random freak injuries, not worried about those. My philosopy with Gallagher was always to trade him 1 day when the time was right. Coming off those injuries would be the wrong time cause his value was at the lowest. I'm shocked you don't see what I see. I understand where your heart is but it's getting in the way of logic

No I see what you’re saying 100%. All I’m saying is they have a heart. And they won’t give him away unless I don’t think so
