Maybe Hamilton a second and Saarela for Zibanejad? Z isn’t necessarily better, but he has one more year on his contract which is far more team friendly IMO. Also he’s on a 70 point pace so you’ll need to give them a lot. Maybe even add Necas instead of Saarela if it comes to that.

Dougie and Necas for Zibanejad is the max I’d give up as Carolina. No it’s not fair. It’s an overpayment, but NYR can get an overpayment if they put Zibanejad on the market.

nyr wont give up ziba then atm hamiltons value is at an all time low while ziba keeps climbing and he is on pace for 70+ with and insane team friendly contract for another 3 years after this one.

I'd rather keep Mika, as I find that extra year on the contract very important. Rangers might be looking for a quick turnaround, but it might not be that quick. Won't compete for a Cup next year, even if they're much better. The year after they might, but if they fall short, that's it with Hamilton. Mika still would be around for another go in 21-22'. And we keep our 2nd Rounder (which is actually the one that becomes a 1st if the Bolts win the Cup this year).
